A study in the "International Journal of Obesity" published in August 2008 found that including an egg breakfast as part of a low-calorie diet can actually increase rate of weight loss by 65 percent. Eggs are a good choice for low-carb dieters and frugal shoppers.

If you're looking to add some variety to your breakfasts or simply want something fancy for your next brunch, give duck eggs a try. They're a little larger than chicken eggs and provide several essential nutrients. Some people who have an allergy to chicken eggs can tolerate duck eggs as they are a slightly different protein, but inquire with your medical provider first if you have a true egg allergy.

Goose eggs are about three times the size of a chicken egg. The shell of a goose egg is considerably harder and the flavor is richer and more intense than conventional chicken eggs. Many of the nutrients are similar to that of a chicken egg, but multiplied due to their larger size.
